Because of how easy it is to get started many people without business experience comes to the Internet to start their own online business. This leads to a large group of people who want to build their business without spending any money.
When it comes to getting Internet marketing website traffic free is not always the best way. As a matter of fact the most successful businesses eventually begin to do paid advertising in one form or another.
So what kind of paid advertising works?
1. Pay per click advertising. The largest ppc search engine is Google. Yahoo also has a very effective ppc program and they are generally less expensive than Google.
The primary advantage to this form of advertising is how quickly you can get on page 1 of a major search engine for any targeted keyword phrase. It is just a matter of learning the proper bidding strategies and writing quality ad copy.
You can certainly outsource this and there are many companies that provide this service. However, if you are going to do a lot of ppc advertising this is a strategy you should learn how to do yourself.
2. Facebook ads. They are now the second largest source of Internet traffic. Therefore it makes sense that you would want to have your ads on Facebook pages where people can find them.
One advantage to this type of advertising is you can target your advertising based on people’s interest. When a person sets up a Facebook account they actually reveal alot about themself.
3. Article marketing. Many Internet marketers will pay a freelance writer to create articles for them. There are also services available that will even submit the articles into directories and blogs for you.
You will not get as much immediate traffic with article marketing as you will with other forms of paid advertising. However, the long-term benefit is the backlinks you create from your articles can drive traffic for you long after the article is published.
